Overview

As a Decorator - Slicer you'll decorate and slice cheesecakes and specialty cakes on a high-volume production line while meeting standards for appearance, portion accuracy, and consistency. The position requires precise equipment operation, strong quality checks, and the ability to maintain speed while minimizing waste.

Responsibilities
  • Decorate finished cheesecakes and specialty cakes on a continuous production line according to established standards for appearance, portioning, and consistency.
  • Slice cheesecakes and cakes using manual or mechanical slicing equipment to achieve precise, uniform portions that meet weight and size specifications.
  • Verify cake quality prior to slicing and decorating, identifying defects such as uneven layers, surface imperfections, or damage and escalating per quality procedures.
  • Apply finishes such as toppings, ganache, glazes, or decorative elements accurately and efficiently while maintaining consistent visual presentation across high volumes.
  • Operate, adjust, and monitor slicing equipment or guides to accommodate different cake sizes, maintaining safe operation at all times.
  • Maintain production speed while ensuring accuracy, minimizing waste, and supporting daily output and throughput targets.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements including hand hygiene, allergen controls, equipment sanitation, and product handling procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize decorating tools, slicing equipment, work surfaces, and surrounding areas at scheduled intervals and changeovers.
  • Track product flow on the line and communicate issues related to quality, equipment function, or supply shortages to leads or supervisors.
  • Accurately handle and stage finished products for downstream packaging, wrapping, or freezing according to line procedures.
  • Adhere to portion control standards to support food cost accuracy and brand consistency across all bakery items.
  • Support line changeovers by resetting tools, guides, or decorations for different cheesecake varieties while minimizing downtime.
  • Perform visual checks on decorated and sliced products to confirm alignment with brand appearance standards before release.

Qualifications
  • 6 months prior experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of production procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices Teamwork and communication skills
  • Meet all federal and state regulatory requirements and adhere to our SQF program
  • Manufacturing or Food Handling industry knowledge
  • Industrial Technical or Machinery experience
  • Basic hand tool and computer user interface knowledge
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Food and Safety knowledge
  • Ability to perform repetitious work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand up to 80% of shift
  • Squatting, and pushing/pulling up to 30% of shift
  • Twisting, grasping, reaching, turning, stooping, and lifting to 80% of shift
