Job description

Position Summary

The Director of Pricing – Warehousing & Transportation leads pricing strategy, automation, and analytics across all East Coast warehouse services including public warehousing, Drayage, TL, LTL, Logistics and Customs Examination Services. Based out of the Elizabeth, NJ hub, this role owns the transformation of pricing from a manual, deal-by-deal process into a rules-driven, system-enabled discipline — while maintaining deep command of the underlying rate environment across the network's core markets.

What You'll Do

Pricing Strategy, Automation & Insights

Own the vision and roadmap for pricing automation, analytics, and process improvement.

Establish clear pricing KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to support consistent decision-making.

Move the organization from manual pricing to rules-driven and system-enabled workflows.

Automated Pricing & Decision Frameworks

Oversee design and rollout of pricing rules, approval workflows, deal guidance, and system-driven recommendations across CPQ/ERP platforms.

Ensure automation includes appropriate exception handling and governance.

Analytics Oversight

Direct development of core pricing analytics (price realization, margin drivers, discount trends, segmentation).

Use advanced methods when needed, without requiring hands-on model building.

Translate analytics into clear actions, rules, and system logic.

Process Optimization

Redesign pricing processes across price setting, approvals, contracts, and renewals.

Implement workflow automation and decision engines with IT and Commercial Operations.

Market & Rate Environment Expertise

Maintain deep, current knowledge of the rate environment across warehousing, transportation, and CES operations in all geographic markets.

Translate market rate trends, capacity shifts, and regional cost dynamics (labor, fuel, real estate, accessorials) into pricing rules, guardrails, and system logic.

Serve as the internal authority on how core-market rate conditions should inform pricing strategy, guidance, and exception handling.

Change Leadership

Drive adoption of pricing tools and automated workflows.

Communicate insights and outcomes clearly to cross-functional and executive partners.

Partner closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Transportation to align pricing decisions across the business.

Platforms & Governance

Champion pricing platforms, data quality, and automation capabilities.

Establish governance for pricing rules, system decisions, overrides, and compliance.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Leadership

A desire to build a team and dig into the details needed to identify what that team requires

10+ years in pricing, commercial operations, revenue management, or analytics-driven process transformation.

5+ years leading teams in pricing, automation, digital transformation, or commercial excellence.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

Strong understanding of pricing analytics and how to operationalize them in systems.

Experience with workflow automation, rule engines, and integrated pricing processes.

Ability to bridge technical, operational, and commercial needs in a practical way.

Market & Industry Knowledge

Strong working knowledge of the rate environment for warehousing, transportation, and CES operations across core markets, including how capacity, labor, fuel, and demand cycles move rates.

Ability to apply real-world market and rate intelligence to pricing rules, deal guidance, and system-driven recommendations — not just theoretical models.

Experience operating in or pricing for East Coast logistics/trucking markets a strong plus.
