Position Overview

The Pediatric Registered Dietitian II plays a crucial role in delivering specialized clinical nutrition services to infants, children, and adolescents facing intricate medical challenges, particularly focusing on cerebral palsy and associated neurodevelopmental issues. This position collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes specialists from orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, neurosurgery, complex care services, physical therapy, and social work. Key responsibilities encompass thorough nutrition assessments, optimizing nutritional care prior to complex spine and hip surgeries, personalized care planning, teamwork across disciplines, and educating caregivers to promote optimal growth, feeding practices, and overall health outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Delivering nutritional care to patients in designated inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Analyzing medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to assess patient requirements and formulate effective nutrition care strategies.
  • Assisting in overseeing the daily activities of the dietetic technician.
Essential QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Dietetics, including at least 2 years focused on pediatric nutrition.
Certifications/Licensure:
  • Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing body of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Licensed Dietitian in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
