Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team at the Center For Discovery, Ltd. Work Environment

This full-time role is structured to allow for maximum flexibility, as you will be working remotely while providing outpatient therapy services. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST), allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Although your primary work setting will be remote, you will be part of a dedicated team that values collaboration and communication using telehealth platforms and secure online communication tools.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual, couples, and family therapy sessions to clients facing diverse life challenges, including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored treatment plans that reflect each client’s unique needs and goals.
  • Employing effective therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems therapy, to enhance mental health and promote recovery.
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of client progress and treatment interventions as per regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including social workers and psychiatrists, to ensure a cohesive approach to client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will have the privilege of working with a diverse population, including individuals and families from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our clients typically present with challenges such as relationship difficulties, substance abuse, chronic stress, and emotional disturbances. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding them through these hurdles and fostering a better quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position must meet the following qualifications:

  • A valid Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license issued by the state of California.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • A self-motivated, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset ready to contribute positively to our work culture.
Preferred Experience

Although a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience is required, candidates with experience working with varied populations and presenting challenges such as addiction recovery and familial discord will be highly valued. Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and electronic health record systems is a plus.
