Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Center for Discovery, your daily activities will include:

  • Leading individual and group therapy sessions for clients dealing with a spectrum of emotional, behavioral, and relational life issues.
  • Conducting thorough assessments and creating tailored treatment plans that address the unique backgrounds and needs of each client.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to guide clients through challenges related to mental health and addiction.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records using our practice management software while monitoring client progress to ensure the efficacy of treatment approaches.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care, share insights, and integrate services for holistic treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including adults of all ages, couples, and families who face issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and family dynamics. Our clinic prides itself on serving a multicultural clientele, ensuring that services are not only accessible but also culturally sensitive and responsive. Your skills in developing rapport and understanding different perspectives will be vital in fostering a therapeutic alliance that promotes healing and growth.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or an equivalent field.
  • A valid and unrestricted LMFT license in California.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by older adults and families.
  • Strong listening abilities, diagnostic skills, and a compassionate communication style.
  • The capacity to work independently, coupled with a collaborative mindset that thrives in team settings.
Preferred Experience

While two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with specialized training or certifications in trauma-informed care, family systems therapy, or similar frameworks may find their skills particularly beneficial in this role. Experience with teletherapy platforms and digital therapeutics is also a plus, as these tools enhance client engagement.

Compensation and Benefits
