Ceres Caribe is recognized for its rapid disaster recovery including debris removal, demolition, and blue roofs. We perform resiliency services, including vegetation management and utility line clearing for the Puerto Rican power grid. Ceres Caribe is also nationally recognized for creating natural parks and an aviary center on the island. The company is expanding its efforts to assist in securing the power grid for the Island.

Driven by Purpose, Powered by People

At Ceres Caribe, we believe you're more than just an employee; you're part of a team with a purpose and a meaningful mission. Whether in management, field operations, or behind the scenes, every team member plays a vital role in restoring hope, helping communities recover and rebuild.

We value initiative, respect diversity, and give our people the freedom to lead. We offer competitive pay, travel opportunities, and a culture built on resilience and teamwork. If you show up with compassion, share the commitment, react with urgency, and deliver solutions, you'll fit right in. We don't just respond to challenges; we rise to them.

    What We Are Looking For

The General Foreman is responsible for leading and directing multiple field crews performing utility vegetation management, right-of-way maintenance, tree trimming, damage assessment, and related operations. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

The General Foreman manages Foremen, Working Foremen, Arborists, Groundsmen, Damage Assessors, and other field personnel while coordinating resources, equipment, schedules, and production goals across multiple work locations.

Success in the first 12 months includes maintaining a strong safety culture, achieving production objectives, developing high-performing crews, supporting customer satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence across assigned territories.

    What You Will Do

    • Lead, supervise, and support multiple field crews engaged in utility vegetation management and right-of-way operations.
    • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
    • Monitor productivity, quality, staffing levels, and operational performance across assigned territories.
    • Conduct field inspections, job site audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
    • Promote and enforce OSHA, ANSI, company safety policies, and utility industry best practices.
    • Train, mentor, and develop Foremen and field personnel to improve performance and career growth.
    • Review and approve employee time records, production reports, and operational documentation.
    • Coordinate equipment, vehicles, tools, and personnel resources to maximize efficiency.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, utility representatives, property owners, contractors, and internal leadership.
    • Investigate incidents, accidents, customer concerns, and operational issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
    • Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, workforce allocation, and operational improvement initiatives.
    • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility vegetation management, forestry, tree care, construction, or related field operations.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience leading multiple crews and field personnel.
    • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead large field operations and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and utility vegetation management safety requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, CTSP, or equivalent industry certification.
    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
    • Experience working on utility contracts and power line clearance projects.
    • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

    What to Expect

This role requires a combination of field leadership, operational management, and administrative responsibilities. Most days will involve visiting multiple job sites, conducting crew meetings, reviewing production and safety performance, addressing operational challenges, and coordinating with customers and company leadership.

The General Foreman should expect to spend significant time outdoors in varying weather conditions and may be required to travel throughout Puerto Rico, including remote locations. The position often requires flexibility in work hours to support operational needs, emergency response efforts, storm restoration activities, and customer priorities.
