Job description


Position Overview
The head coach provides leadership of the program through teaching, coaching, mentoring, character development, and recruiting high-quality student athletes. The head coach is also accountable for all aspects of a Division I sport program, including but not limited to: compliance, budget, scheduling, staff oversight, etc.
Responsibilities
  • Establishing a positive team culture and promoting exceptional student-athlete experiences
  • Evaluating and recruiting academically qualified and athletically talented student athletes
  • Organizing and conducting team workouts and competition
  • Arranging a Division I schedule and team travel
  • Managing the operating and scholarship budgets
  • Selecting and managing any assistant coaches

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of coaching experience
  • The ability to work effectively with student athletes, colleagues and the campus community.
  • Thorough understanding of the rules and regulations related to Butler University, the BIG EAST Conference and NCAA Division I
  • Outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of college coaching experience
