Job description

Austin Industries is one of the nation's largest, most diversified U.S.-based construction companies. Our Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for a Service & Lube Technician for a large commercial project in Phoenix, Arizona. They are responsible for fueling, lubricating, and performing light equipment repair on all types of construction equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform fueling, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment, trucks, and support vehicles at jobsites and yards
  • Safely operate fuel and lube service trucks in compliance with DOT regulations and company driving policies
  • Conduct daily inspections of fuel/lube equipment, hoses, pumps, and tanks to ensure safe operation
  • Monitor fluid levels (fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, etc.) and identify potential maintenance or mechanical concerns for follow-up
  • Accurately document fueling activity, services performed, equipment hours, and maintenance needs
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicles, including fuel, oils, and related supplies
  • Coordinate with equipment, shop, and field personnel to prioritize servicing needs and minimize equipment downtime
  • Follow all jobsite safety protocols, environmental regulations, and hazardous materials handling requirements
  • Demonstrate diligence in spill prevention, containment, and proper cleanup procedures when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and operators regarding equipment condition, service needs, and scheduling
  • Support field operations by responding promptly and professionally to fueling and lubrication requests
  • Adhere to company policies, DOT requirements, and Hazmat handling standards at all times
  • Represent the company in a professional and safety-focused manner on jobsites and while traveling between locations
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of equipment and field operations

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience fueling and servicing heavy construction equipment, trucks, or off-road equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of fuels, lubricants, oils, and fluids used in construction and heavy equipment operations
  • Familiarity with safe handling, transport, and dispensing of fuel and hazardous materials
  • Ability to perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections in accordance with DOT and company requirements
  • Comfortable operating fuel and lube service trucks in active jobsites and yard environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors, and dispatch
  • Ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditions, schedules, and project requirements
  • Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings to support a safe work environment

Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  • Ability to climb on and around equipment, handle hoses, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to work early mornings, extended hours, or weekends as jobsite needs require
  • Must possess a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker certifications
