Job description
A growing private equity firm is seeking a Finance Manager to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong public accounting background who is looking to transition into an industry role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Finance Manager will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with leadership and external service providers/
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party providers during audits and compliance activities
- Monitor cash activity and assist with treasury-related functions
- Support the implementation and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with system implementations, process enhancements, and operational efficiencies
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reporting for leadership as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, compliance, and executive leadership teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation preferred
- 4–7 years of experience, including experience in public accounting
- Big 4 or regional public accounting firm experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience managing audits, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
