Join a Leader in Power Equipment SolutionsOur client is a well-established distributor and solutions provider serving OEM manufacturers and equipment dealers throughout North America. They are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategy, growth, and technical support of a portfolio of small gasoline engines used across a variety of commercial and industrial applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in small engines, outdoor power equipment, OEM sales support, or product management who enjoys working directly with customers, engineering teams, and sales professionals to bring innovative solutions to market.
What You'll Do- Manage the overall strategy, positioning, and profitability of a small engine product portfolio.
- Serve as the technical expert for customers, sales teams, and dealer partners.
- Support OEM customers by recommending engine solutions based on equipment applications.
- Partner with sales teams on new business opportunities, product demonstrations, and customer presentations.
- Work with engineering teams to support prototype development, testing, and product implementation.
- Develop product training materials, sales tools, and technical documentation.
- Assist with new product launches, lifecycle management, pricing strategies, and product transitions.
- Support independent dealers with application guidance, technical support, and product training.
- Identify opportunities to replace competitive engine platforms with new product solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitive products, and customer needs to drive future growth.
- 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Sales, OEM Sales Support, Application Engineering, or a related role.
- Previous experience with small gasoline engines, outdoor power equipment, utility engines, generators, lawn & garden equipment, or similar mechanical products.
- Experience working with OEM customers, distributors, or dealer networks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to explain technical concepts to customers.
- Experience supporting product launches, pricing, product positioning, or product lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
Experience with products or applications involving:
- Small gasoline engines
- Outdoor power equipment
- Commercial mowing equipment
- Utility engines
- Generators
- Pumps
- Construction equipment
- Agricultural equipment
Candidates with experience from organizations such as Honda Power Equipment, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki Engines, Generac, Toro, Husqvarna, STIHL, Kubota, Ariens, Exmark, Scag, or similar manufacturers or distributors are highly encouraged to apply.
