Business Intelligence AnalystA Business Intelligence Analyst, or Business Intelligence Specialist, is responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis within an organization. Their duties include organizing data points, communicating between upper management and the IT department and analyzing data to determine a corporation's needs. This position will report directly to the Director of IT.The primary duty of the Business Intelligence Analyst is to transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the business. Other duties and responsibilities of a Business Intelligence Analyst within a company include:Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organizationProviding reports through office applications to improve business processesCreating KPIs and reporting package for teams to provide insight into organization to make strategic decisions.Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company's missionAnalyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation.Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements and user manuals for the organizationIdentifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability Work with a variety of data sources - extracting knowledge and actionable informationAnalyze and build data models for use in regular and/or automated reporting and analysisBe a passionate problem solver - breaking down problems and developing analytical insightsConvey results to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholdersEvaluate operations for inefficiencies and identify areas where you can create, automate, and develop toolsSupport the business with ad hoc reportingParticipate in all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance windowsContinuously strive for a deeper understanding of our business driversOffer insight to all aspects of the organization – product, marketing, sales, ops etc....Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.Willingness and ability to train and teach others.Requirements:5+ years' experience using Power BI creating reports and the underlying data structures7+ years supporting business operations in an analytics capacityProficiency with SQLGreat communication/presentation skillsNice to have:Experience with Snowflake and 5Tran preferred.Experience in report writing within Hyperion is preferredFluency writing DAX Measures and Calculated ColumnsData Preparation: Fluency using Power Query and writing SQL queries for data preparationData Modeling: Relationships and DAX formulae across 15+ tables data modelsData Visualization Skills: being able to quickly provide meaningful insights from data, and apply best practices at reportingExperience with M Language for Power QueryExperience with Power BI Paginated Report BuilderSolid Experience in Analysis, Design, Development and Deployment of Hyperion ReportsA love for insights, innate curiosity, and a deep desire to find ways to create valueSolid communication skillsPassion for automationComfort in a complex data environment and understanding of data structuresAbility to organize and lead meetings with business and operational data ownersAbility to tell a story to the end user using dataStrong ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issuesWork independently and with team members to understand database structure and business processesDocumenting all Power BI new and already existing assets, processes and proceduresBA or BS in statistics, math, computer science, physics or other technical related field; Master's degree is preferredExcellent presentation, writing, and Excel skills are a must
