Advisory Board Member - Oasis for Girls

Oasis

San Francisco, CA • On-site

Re-posted 17 hours ago

Job description

Oasis for Girls is recruiting experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our Advisory Board. This board plays a critical role in the organization's governance, fundraising, and financial oversight.

The Cause

Oasis for Girls partners with young girls of color, aged 14-18, from under-resourced communities in San Francisco to cultivate the skills, knowledge, and confidence to discover their dreams and build strong futures. Our intensive after school programming focuses on academic and career exploration, creative arts, and social justice. All programs are culturally relevant and gender-specific to empower girls and build sisterhood through shared experiences.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking candidates who have a passion for women's issues and social justice work. Ideal candidates have experience or skills (or the desire to learn) in any of these areas: fundraising, finance, governance, human resources, marketing, communications, event planning, and non-profit management

The Commitment

  • Commit to a 2-year board term
  • Donate OR fundraise annually (we will support you with this!)
  • Attend 80% of monthly meetings (alternating between virtual and in-person in San Francisco)
  • Dedicate 12-15 hours/month (serve on a committee, special assignments, etc.)
