Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Location: Columbus, OH (Fully Onsite)

Industry: Transportation, Logistics, and Freight Management

Pay: $19–$22/hour (Contract-to-Hire) | Conversion salary: $40,000–$44,000 annually, plus bonus potential

Job Description:

Addison Group is partnering with a growing transportation and logistics organization to identify an Operations Executive for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative Customer Operations team supporting large customer accounts while gaining hands-on experience in freight management, transportation operations, and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, technically savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift throughout the day.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer calls and emails while providing exceptional service and timely updates.
  • Enter, build, and maintain customer orders within transportation management systems.
  • Schedule appointments with shippers and receivers through online portals, phone, and email.
  • Plan, route, monitor, and track shipments to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate load, customer, shipper, and receiver information.
  • Proactively identify and resolve shipment or service issues before they impact customers.
  • Coordinate with customers, warehouses, carriers, accounting, and internal operations teams to ensure successful freight movement.
  • Monitor and organize activity within load board systems.
  • Assist with customer KPI reporting, transportation analysis, and cost-saving recommendations.
  • Develop process documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives for customer accounts.


Qualifications:

  • Customer-facing experience in a professional environment.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, supply chain, or a related industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer proficiency.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and multiple internal systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
