  • Instruction Delivery: Provide specialized instruction on tactical operations, including firearms, breaching, sharpshooting/observation, tactical planning, and incident management.
  • Crisis Response Expertise: Share real-world insights and strategies from experience in CRT missions such as hostage negotiations, high-risk warrants, barricade situations, and active shooter incidents.
  • Skill Development: Train participants in advanced techniques, ensuring proficiency in tactical emergency medical response and other specialty fields.
  • Curriculum Enhancement: Collaborate in the development and improvement of course materials and training modules to meet evolving operational needs.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or equivalent work experience. (One year of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of education.)

  • Proven experience in tactical training, covering specialties like firearms, breaching, tactical planning, and sharpshooting/observation.
  • Completion of a recognized basic firearms instructor course with ongoing instructional experience.
  • Certification in tactical emergency medical response, such as TEMS, Tactical First Aid, FRO, Tactical Life Saver Technician, or TCC.
  • Graduate of a local, state, military, or Federal law enforcement academy.
  • Graduate of a local, state, military, or Federal SWAT or special weapons and tactics school (minimum 40 hours), such as CRT, SWAT, or Military Special Operations Training School.

Pay Grade: 13/5 Position Designation (PD#): 1006S, 1007S, 1008S, 1009S

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and inspire trainees.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of tactical operations and emergency response methodologies.
  • Passion for sharing expertise and enhancing the capabilities of tactical teams.
