Job Description

AFS is seeking a Java Developer to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment. The ideal candidate will participate in the full Agile application development life cycle for new development design, construction and testing of Java applications, Web Services (SOAP and REST), and reusable components to support overall project objectives.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of development experience overall experience analyzing, designing and implementing integration solutions to include using Java/JEE, Spring, Java Script, SQL and related technologies
  • 3 years minimum working with object oriented programming and domain driven development principles 
  • 2 years working with Java script application framework
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Hibernate experience with Oracle, MySQL or SQLServer a plus
  • Hands-on experience with ExtJs a plus
  • Experience with a wide variety of testing tools and techniques including Junit
  • Thorough understanding and proven delivery experience within a Scrum/Agile project lifecycle approach to software development, including experience with Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, User Acceptance Testing
  • Experience in using Gradle, Maven, Ant or other build tool a plus. 
  • Must be a "team player" and have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-Starter that has the ability to work under general direction
  • Ability to balance work across multiple projects concurrently
