Location: Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital, 2335 City View Dr, Madison, WI 53718


Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new, 120-bed acute care facility in Madison, WI and specializes in comprehensive psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and seniors facing mental health and substance use challenges. The hospital offers a range of services, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), and will develop specialized programs to address community needs.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care.

About the role:

The Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry required.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
