Patient Account Representative


We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Account Representative to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key point of contact for patients regarding their billing and account inquiries, ensuring a smooth and positive experience while maintaining accurate financial records. If you are organized, customer-focused, and have a strong understanding of healthcare billing processes, we encourage you to apply and become part of our dedicated team committed to providing exceptional patient service.


Key Responsibilities:

- Manage patient accounts by processing payments, adjustments, and collections accurately and efficiently

- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance claims, and payment options

- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to facilitate accurate billing

- Collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations

- Reconcile accounts and prepare reports related to billing and collections

- Assist in the preparation of billing documentation and ensure timely submission of claims

- Educate patients on their financial responsibilities and available payment plans


Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred

- Prior experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare administration is a plus

- Strong knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities

- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

- Knowledge of insurance policies, coding, and billing regulations

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
