Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of System Studies and Simulation (Sยณ), providing a variety of aviation services to commercial, Government, and Partner Nation customers.
KBFS has locations in Temple, TX; Crestview, FL; and Geneva, AL. KBFS currently holds certifications for CFR 14 FAA 141 (Flight Training) and 145 (Repair Station). In addition to its current commercial operations, KBFS provides contract aviation support to the Department of Defense, other US Federal Agencies, and US-approved Foreign Militaries and security organizations. The Sยณ/KBFS Crestview, FL International ISR Training Academy provides pilot, mission system operator, flying crew chief, and loadmaster qualification training in air-land, airdrop, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission sets. KBFS Geneva provides Fixed Base Operations support for the Geneva Municipal Airport and is the recipient of the 2023 FAA Award for Airport Manager of the Year under Manager Bryan Pike. KBFS Temple provides Flight Training, Aircraft Maintenance, and Avionics support, and Commercial Aviation Operations.
Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Refuel Technician to support our operations in Geneva, AL.
Military experience is a plus. This is not a teleworking position.
Description:
The Aircraft Refueler Technician position will be responsible for: providing aircraft/helicopter movement operations by towing aircraft from indoor storage hangars to designated ramp parking locations and positioning back into indoor storage hangars during non-flying activities or hazardous weather conditions; conducting fueling operations for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, both military and civilian, using mobile trucks; executing tank farm operations by inspecting systems, filling mobile fuel trucks, and offloading bulk aviation fuel tanker trucks into bulk storage takes; performing all duties in accordance with FAA, State, and local governing procedures; and executing duties applying principles outlines in Safety Management System policy and applicable operations checklists.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists in preparing fuel trucks and storage facilities for inspections and maintenance checks and services. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
  • Performs limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots refueling systems.
  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools and special tools.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft technical manuals, maintenance information and action messages as well as all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
  • Applies a working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Makes entries in refueling logs and records. Other duties assigned as necessary

Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a graduate of a DOD, FAA or equivalent refueling course.
  • Must have rotary wing and fixed wing refueling experience. Must have demonstrated experience refueling military helicopters including but not limited to AH-64, UH-60, TH-67, and CH-47.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Be able to work 2-10pm, or nights and weekends as required.
