Job description

CNC Milling Machine Set-Up Operator (2nd shift)
Ingersoll Cutting Tools is one of the world's leading suppliers of metal cutting tooling systems and an integral member of the IMC Group of Companies, a distinguished corporate holding of Berkshire Hathaway, with over 130 subsidiaries in 60 countries around the world. Ingersoll's US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a 5 Axis Milling Operator.
Essential job duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Set up and operate CNC 5 axis mills including loading offline generated programs and associated tooling and work holding.
  • Conduct minor program editing as required utilizing programmed offsets.
  • Utilize engineering drawings and work instructions to perform machining tasks with high level of quality.
  • Utilizes QC equipment including proprietary master gaging, Zoller tool setters, electronic height gages, thread gages, hand tools, etc.
  • Conducts 1st part and audit inspection ensuring all aspects of quality are being met in accordance with quality plans and engineering specifications.
  • Maintains workspace orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Quality assurance and labor reporting via Windows based computer system.
  • Maintain organized and clean work area.
  • Works to applicable process protocols/procedures.
  • Works in Team Environment.
  • Work OT and weekends as required.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years CNC machining experience or 1 year experience combined with appropriate trade school education.
  • Previous job shop experience/diversity preferred.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Familiarity with Heidenhain controls desired.
  • Experience with electronic and mechanical precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to work in team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of G & M Codes or basic programming a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows platform.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as required.
  • Attention to detail, organization and cleanliness/care of equipment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work well independently, as well as with others, in a team environment. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess a good work ethic, demonstrate reliable and punctual work habits, demonstrate safety consciousness, and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
The Salary range for this position is $22-30/hr. based on experience level.
2nd shift - 2pm-10pm with OVERTIME AS REQUIRED.
