The engineer applies strong manufacturing and machining expertise to develop, implement, and continuously improve tooling, processes, and controls for high-production gear machining operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the headquarters launch team and suppliers to plan, coordinate, and execute the launch of an incoming machining line in alignment with key business metrics.
  • Develop, refine, and validate machining processes with a strong focus on tool development for high-production machining operations.
  • Lead the implementation of GTSV tool tracking systems to monitor, control, and optimize tooling usage and performance.
  • Identify tool-dominant features in machining operations and implement appropriate process controls to ensure consistent quality and capability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity across all machining and tooling activities.
  • Prepare, complete, and maintain all PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) quality launch documentation to support successful product and process approvals.
  • Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish robust manufacturing processes and continuously improve existing products and operations.
  • Develop and execute action plans to investigate, prioritize, and resolve open issues related to machining processes, tooling, and supplier performance.
