Job description

Job Overview
Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Customs Data Entry Clerk who will process international shipment documents and transposes data (like product classification, valuation, and duties) into operating systems. This critical role prevents border delays and ensures compliance with customs and trade regulations. This position includes a competitive salary and bonus plan with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.
Schedule and Compensation
  • Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm (on-site)
  • Starting salary of $40,000 per year

Job Details
What to Expect as a Customs Data Entry Clerk:
  • Reviews commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading to ensure accuracy prior to submission.
  • Transposes shipment details into customs and freight forwarding systems to create valid customs declarations.
  • Verifies that goods are properly classified using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and meets regulatory guidelines.
  • Liaises with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and importers to resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in customs, international logistics, or domestic brokerage.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data entry speeds with high accuracy rates, proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with HTS codes.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other pertinent software.
  • Background in Cargowise preferred.
