With a team of approximately 50 employees, Zippertubing offers the stability of a long-standing manufacturer with the agility of a small, collaborative company. We design and produce highly customized, niche solutions for our customers and our Production team plays a critical role in delivering the precision, responsiveness, and quality our customers rely on.

We are seeking a Production Worker I to join our team in our air-conditioned manufacturing facility located in Chandler, AZ. We need a person who can focus on quality while assembling products by hand that are made of various materials. The ideal candidate must have good hand dexterity, be willing to learn new tasks and equipment, and become a self-starter once trained. This role requires experience in sewing in an industrial setting. (Training and instructions will be provided as needed, but the sewing ability must be a proficient level.)

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assemble materials by hand using good focus and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to start up, operate, tend, and stop a variety of equipment including industrial sewing machines to meet performance standards. - (preferred)
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Understand and ensure conformance to specifications and stop any non-conforming parts or products.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Work to applicable performance standards.
  • Take instructions from supervisors and the production manager.
  • Adapt to changing work tasks as needed.
  • Report visual and audible equipment faults to supervisors.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Production hands-on experience +2 year (required)
  • Familiarity with automated equipment. (preferred)
  • ISO, LEAN or other quality system experience. (preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings (preferred)
  • Criminal background check (required)
  • English (required)
  • US work authorization (required)

Cognitive and Physical Demands

The Production Worker I must demonstrate cognitive ability to follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, exhibit spatial awareness, read words and numbers, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections, and determine sequence of response and process up to 2-3 steps ahead. Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable and consistent basis and to commute to and from work safely and arrive at work on time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level can be loud at times. Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This position involves a variety of repetitive processes such as insertion of materials, alignment by hand and rotating fixtures by hand. The position also involves sitting, talking and hearing throughout the day. The employee must also be able to safely lift up to 49 pounds or less repeatedly during the 8-10hour shift.
