Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sewing Machine Operator Level II performs intermediate sewing operations involving larger garment sections, longer seams, and more complex construction processes. This level requires greater skill in controlling fabric alignment, seam quality, and multi-layer construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform sewing operations longer than 15 inches.
  • Sew together large garment components such as liner and shell assemblies.
  • Execute long topstitch operations.
  • Operate double-needle machines with split bar.
  • Sew long curves and multi-layer seams.
  • Perform hemming operations including liner hems.
  • Construct garment areas such as:
    • Bottom hems
    • Waist cuffs
    • Pant legs
  • Install zippers across one or two layers of fabric (most occurrences).
  • Maintain production quality and efficiency standards.

Machine Types
  • Single needle machines (advanced operations)
  • Double needle machines with split bar

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: None required.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Good mechanical aptitude to be able to make machine adjustments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Occasionally stands and walks.
  • Frequently sits. Continuously gasps.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
