Job Description
Reports to a Practice Manager/Director for administrative supervision and the Practice Site Physician or designee for clinical supervision. Is responsible for the coordination and delivery of primary care, as specified by the appropriate certifying agency, to BMG patients at designated work sites. Provides clinical and administrative assistance to BMG programs, etc. Works collaboratively in the education of nursing students, medical residents, and other pre-professionals.

Coordinates and delivers primary and nursing care in collaboration with the Practice Site Physician by:
โ€ข Working within the approved scope of practice as designated for this type of professional.
โ€ข Obtaining complete medical history and physical data on patients.
โ€ข Interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
โ€ข Performing a complete physical exam and recording findings. Collaborating with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
โ€ข Ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
โ€ข Synthesizing data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
โ€ข Administering medications and injections according to physician direction. Suturing minor lacerations.
โ€ข Interviewing and advising patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs.
โ€ข Instructing patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
โ€ข Maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posting tests and examination results.
โ€ข Triaging patient telephone calls and providing consultation.
โ€ข Coordinating or when appropriate managing medical and surgical emergencies.
โ€ข Providing monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
Provides clinical and administrative assistance to BMG programs, e.g., education, follow-up, and the like by:
โ€ข Participating in health education.
โ€ข Maintaining related records and statistical data and preparing statistical reports as needed.
โ€ข Participating in interdisciplinary care conferences and assisting with referrals and dissemination of information to appropriate vendors.
โ€ข Assisting in the development and coordination of ongoing education and follow-up programs designed to measure client outcomes.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
โ€ข Assisting in development and compliance of clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
โ€ข Participating in quality review and improvement programs; monitoring quality and outcomes of care rendered.
โ€ข Communicating with physician(s) to ensure the quality and timeliness for services rendered to patients.
โ€ข Performing other job related assignments and special project as directed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

โ€ข Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
โ€ข Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
โ€ข Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
โ€ข Complies with established organization and department policies.
โ€ข Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.
