Quality Control Laboratory Specialist

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Specialist to join their team! This is a 2-year project opportunity with significant potential for long-term career growth. The position will support Quality Control laboratory operations by building and managing laboratory recipes, master data, and electronic workflows.

Quality Control Laboratory Specialist Job Summary:

  • 2-year project with potential for long-term growth
  • On-site 3 days per week
  • Create and modify laboratory recipes and master data used within the Quality Control laboratory
  • Build electronic workflows that replicate and improve existing laboratory processes
  • Work with laboratory end users and business stakeholders to understand requirements and optimize workflows
  • Test new functionality, identify and report software defects, and support system improvements
  • Design and enhance reporting functionality and laboratory system interfaces
  • Create and maintain documentation within a regulated laboratory environment
  • Support the development and implementation of laboratory recipes through multiple development and testing iterations
  • Apply data integrity, documentation, and quality principles to laboratory workflows

Quality Control Laboratory Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with laboratory workflows, processes, or systems
  • Experience creating, modifying, or managing laboratory recipes or master data
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical, Quality Control, or regulated laboratory environment is preferred
  • Experience with master data management, laboratory systems, or workflow configuration
  • Understanding of data integrity concepts and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as GMP or ISO
  • Knowledge of laboratory processes such as sample cycles, certification, and in-process controls
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with end users and international teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work on-site at least 3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LIMS systems such as LabWare, CoreLIMS, or LabVantage
  • Experience with ELN/LES systems
  • Experience with laboratory software such as Empower, LabX, Chromeleon, MassHunter, or OpenLab
  • Knowledge of CSV, GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, or EU Annex 11
  • Experience with pharmaceutical method validation, cleaning validation, or instrument qualification
  • Knowledge of BPMN and laboratory workflow design
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Business Analysis concepts
  • Knowledge of Ph. Eur., USP, ICH, or MHRA standards
