Position Overviewย
The Loss Prevention Officerย is responsible forย maintainingย the safety and security of hotel guests, team members, and property. This role provides a visible security presence, monitors hotel activity, responds to incidents and emergencies, and enforces hotel safety and security policies. The Loss Prevention Officer plays a critical role in protecting assets and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment within a full-service hotel.ย
Whatย You'llย Doย
Safety & Security Operationsย
- Patrol hotel property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, to ensure safety and security.ย
- Monitorย entrances, exits, and access points to prevent unauthorized entry.ย
- Enforce hotel safety, security, and loss prevention policies and procedures.ย
- Maintainย a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unsafe behavior.ย
Incident Response & Reportingย
- Respond promptly to incidents including disturbances, accidents, thefts, and emergencies.ย
- Provide assistanceย during medical situations, evacuations, and fire alarms.ย
- Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports.ย
- Preserve evidence and follow proper procedures during investigations.ย
Guest & Team Member Assistanceย
- Assistย guests and team members in a professional, calm, and courteous manner.ย
- Address safety or security concerns promptly and escalate issues as needed.ย
- Support VIP guests,ย special events, and high-traffic periods.ย
- Provide directions and basicย assistanceย asย requested.ย
Monitoring & Surveillanceย
- Monitorย CCTV systems and security alarms as assigned.ย
- Conduct routine inspections toย identifyย hazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations.ย
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to theย appropriate department.ย
- Support key control and access log procedures.ย
Compliance & Risk Managementย
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.ย
- Assistย with fire life safety procedures and emergency drills.ย
- Support audits, inspections, and loss prevention initiatives.ย
- Maintainย confidentiality of sensitive information.ย
Additional Responsibilitiesย
- Participate in training sessions and department meetings.ย ย
- Assistย with crowd control and traffic management during peak periods.ย ย
- Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.ย ย
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the job.ย
- Assist with Lost & Found procedures.ย
Whatย You'llย Bringย
Required Education & Experienceย
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.ย
Preferred Education & Experienceย
- Previousย security or loss prevention experience preferred.ย
- Experience in hospitality, hotel, or service-oriented environments preferred.ย
- Training in emergency response or safety procedures preferred.ย
Required Skills and Abilitiesย
- Strong observation, judgment, and decision-making skills.ย
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.ย
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.ย
- Ability to patrol on foot and stand for extended periods.ย
- Ability to write clear andย accurateย reports.ย
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.ย
