Position Summary
Zachry Construction is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to perform metal fabrication in support of various projects within their assigned area. This position requires skill in interpreting blueprints, fabricating materials to specification, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
What You'll Do
  • Read and understand blueprints and drawings prior to starting projects
  • Source materials needed to complete assigned work
  • Measure and cut materials to precise specifications
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets tolerances outlined in prints or drawings
  • Use necessary tools and equipment to perform metal fabrication tasks
  • Safely use cutting torches, heating, and burning equipment
  • Safely operate saws, grinders, presses, and other fabrication tools
  • Follow instructions and complete assigned work efficiently
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds as required for job duties

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of one year of welding or fabricating experience
  • Physical ability to perform assigned tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Must have tools necessary to perform metal fabrication work
  • Knowledge of operating cutting torches, heating and burning equipment
  • Proficiency with saws, grinders, presses, and related tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Must be able to pass a welding test
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
  • Flexibility to work more than eight hours per day, nights, or weekends as needed
  • General labor and construction skills
  • Knowledge of operating other construction equipment and instruments is a plus
