CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Youth Sports Official is responsible for officiating youth sports programs that are offered in a manner consistent with the parameters established by the YMCA of Greater Louisville. This responsibility also includes supervising practices throughout the season. ย The Youth Sports Official is also responsible for maintaining the fields and gyms in a safe, efficient fashion while promoting a good relationship with program participants, members and staff. ย The Youth Sports Official is required to monitor all policies, procedures for all programs, volunteers and staff involved. ย A sincere interest and enjoyment in working with and teaching youth the principles of sports as well as Christian values must be shown.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum age of 15.
  • Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values.
  • Experience working with youth ages 3-14 preferred, if not will train.ย 
  • Athletic background preferred.ย 
  • Personable, outgoing, and service oriented.
  • Ability to resolve issues or conflicts on the field
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • 10-20 hours per week (Must be available weekends)
  • Extremely organized, accurate, and proficient.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid (within first 90 days).
  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.ย 

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to hear, see, speak
  • Lift 50lbs
  • Jog up and down a field/court.
