Job description

In 1984, three young architects embarked on a journey to design and build spaces that enhance and uplift the way communities live, learn, and serve. From the early days of working out of a spare bedroom and holding meetings by a furnace in the hallway, the purpose has always been to provide better service and create and build exceptional architecture that reflects the values of our clients. Today, the vision remains clear โ€“ forge lasting, honest partnerships, draw on expertise while keeping a finger on the pulse of change and innovation, and always invest in one another.

Forty-one years later, we have grown to a 180+ person firm through our unwavering dedication to collaborating with clients, innovative design, and building spaces that nurture a sense of ownership and pride in the community served. With offices in Texas (Dallas, Houston, College Station, and McAllen) and San Francisco, we serve clients who plan for the future of their environments to create spaces that inspire and represent the entire community.

However, we couldnโ€™t do it without our people. At BRW, people are fundamental to everything we do. We thrive on ingenuity, expertise, and creativity born out of connection. Together, we are innovators, designers, collaborators, lifelong learners, and colleagues dedicated to a workplace where we invest in one another. Focusing on cultivating an environment where creativity and ideas thriveโ€ฆand careers grow is what matters.

Project Managers are directly responsible for one or more architectural project teams to ensure successful completion of projects from design drawings to the constructed building. We implement BRW standards and processes, track project schedule and budget, and coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders to lead the high performance of our project teams. We support the Principals in providing the highest standard of service to our Clients to maximize repeat business.

Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Project Manager in theSan Francisco Civic Studio
  • Focused strength in creating and producing successful projects in thePublic Safety and additional civic building types
  • Direct communication with Client project representatives
  • Implement a project work plan following BRWโ€™s project management process
  • Generate and track project schedules and deliverable requirements
  • Monitor project fee budgets and job costs
  • Coordinate production and quality reviews of Contract Documents
  • Proactively communicate with project team consultants
  • Oversee the performance of architectural staff team members
  • Clearly and consistently communicate team roles, responsibilities, and schedules
  • Check-in with team members to maintain engagement, job satisfaction, retention, and role development

As you grow your career with us, youโ€™ll enjoy a host of great benefits. Our firmโ€™s benefits package includes comprehensive coverage starting on day one. It comes complete with access to counselors and legal professionals, along with supplemental benefits. Need pet insurance? We have that, too. At BRW, we know taking time to rest and recharge is vital to a healthy career, so we offer vacation, sick, and mental health days โ€“ itโ€™s yours to use. Our firm believes in work-life balance, so weโ€™ve implemented flexible hours. Whether youโ€™re an early or late riser, start your day when you want so you can be your most productive. We also offer extensive professional development opportunities: mentorship, LinkedIn Learning, AIA certifications, guest seminars, and more. Finally, as a team, we strive to know one another as people first and offer the time and space to unplug and connect with one another.

BRW is searching for colleagues that believe the same. Come grow with us and find out why Louis says "people know you, root for you, and want to see you do well", Cory developed โ€œthe necessary skills to become a well-rounded professionalโ€, and Andrea has found โ€œthe kind of friends that last a lifetime.โ€
