Columbia North YMCA & Girard College | Tuesdays & Thursdays
Love swimming and working with children? We got you.
Passionate about teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming? We are looking for individuals, age 15+ to serve as swim instructors or aides. As a swim instructor or aide you develop important skills such as communication, leadership and responsibility that will serve you for a lifetime!

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):
  • Age 15+
  • Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
  • Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
  • Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):
  • Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
  • Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
  • Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
  • Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
