Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Yard Jockey to support day-to-day yard and warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely moving loaded and empty trailers to and from dock doors and designated yard areas using a powered industrial truck. You will also assist in the warehouse as needed to ensure accurate, damage-free inbound and outbound shipments.
This position requires a valid CDL and sit-down gas-powered forklift experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a powered industrial truck to move loaded and empty trailers to and from dock doors and designated yard areas.
  • Driving will be on company property only. No driving on main roads.
  • Operate a sit-down gas-powered forklift to move material within the warehouse facility safely efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment, reporting any defects or mechanical issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of trailer locations, inventory, and movement schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must have 2 years of spotter, yard jockey, or similar experience; CDL required.
  • Sit-down gas-powered forklift experience
  • Experience operating all forklifts preferred
  • Yard Jockey must have the ability to sit on a powered industrial truck for extended periods.
  • Follow instructions and keep complete and legible records.
  • A high degree of attention is required to prevent injury to others.
  • Ability to judge distances and heights. Have a good sense of balance.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. if necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
