Job: Material Handler

Shift: Nights (12 Hour Shifts)

Location: Mars Petcare (Fort Smith, AR)

Mars Petcare is seeking a Material Handler to join our exciting pet food business at a Fort Smith, AR manufacturing plant. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. Our obsession with detail allows us to deliver precise, effective nutrition and help them become their magnificent best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to record incoming and outgoing loads and move the pallets to their designated location.
  • Scanning pallets as they are loaded onto or off the trailer.
  • Demonstrate the ability to record all transactions in JDA
  • Demonstrate proficiency in loading/unloading trailers
  • Demonstrate ability in reconciling inventory using the JDA System
  • Demonstrate ability to Manage JDA & SAP programs regarding materials management.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies within Inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of site security policies.
  • Assist Yard Dog Operator when needed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of warehousing principles
  • Demonstrate ability to read a schedule and confirm label and product SKU match.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of moving product from location to location using the JDA System
  • Demonstrate ability to inspect the exterior of a trailer before performing the dock locking steps to ensure the trailer is safe for loading and unloading.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use pallet wrapper and able to operate the wrapper in a safe manner
  • Manage Aged Supplier Owned Inventory and transact as needed
  • This position and all site associates are responsible for Quality and Food Safety.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing inventory systems
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Compliance and Documentation
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of SAP, JDA, RF Scan Gun & Portable printers
  • Must have a working knowledge of FIFO/FEFO procedures
  • Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Experience in & working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
