Xpo Team Drivers work in pairs, sharing driving duties on long routes, which can increase efficiency and safety. Solo Truck Drivers operate independently, handling their routes alone. What is an XPO team driver?

XPO team drivers are professional truck drivers who work in pairs for XPO Logistics, a leading transportation and logistics company. These teams drive together, alternating shifts so that their truck can operate almost continuously, allowing for faster deliveries over long distances. Team driving is especially common for expedited freight and time-sensitive shipments. XPO team drivers benefit from higher earning potential and the ability to cover more miles compared to solo drivers. They must both hold valid commercial driver's licenses (CDL) and work together to ensure safety, compliance, and on-time deliveries.

What are the typical scheduling and route expectations for XPO team drivers, and how does team driving impact work-life balance?

XPO Team Drivers typically work on long-haul routes that require driving in shifts to maximize mileage and reduce downtime. Team drivers often spend extended periods on the road, but schedules are designed to ensure compliance with hours-of-service regulations and allow for adequate rest. While team driving can be demanding due to the time away from home, it also offers the benefit of higher earning potential and the support of a partner. Effective communication and coordination with your co-driver are essential for a smooth workflow and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The company provides resources to help teams manage their schedules and stay connected with family while on the road.
