Job Description

Join CD PROJEKT RED and help shape the future of QA Engineering across our projects and Shared Development Services initiatives. We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help build and scale technical quality solutions, automation frameworks and testing infrastructure used across multiple Unreal Engine projects.

You will be part of the QA Engineering team within Shared Development Services (SDS) - a shared technical group focused on improving quality, testability and development workflows through automation, reusable tooling and standardized testing platforms.

While the priority for this role will initially be supporting the development of Cyberpunk 2 - the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 - this is not a project-dedicated position. Your work will contribute to long-term cross-project QA Engineering solutions and shared technical capabilities used across the studio.

This is an opportunity to join at the early stages of a highly innovative game and play a key role in shaping scalable QA engineering practices from the ground up. You will work closely with development teams to build and maintain automated testing solutions, testing environments and shared technical tooling supporting multiple teams and gameplay systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tech Art, Art, QA, DevOps, and central development services teams to support integration and deployment of automated testing solutions, shared tooling, and testing environments across projects.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and extend automated test frameworks and testing infrastructure for Unreal Engine systems and reusable gameplay modules.
  • Support migration, integration, and validation of shared automation solutions between different projects and development environments.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve technical issues related to automation, integrations, testing environments, CI/CD pipelines, and build infrastructure.
  • Participate in the code review process and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards across QA automation codebases.
  • Work closely with development teams to improve testability, reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability of shared systems.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level QA Engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and technical growth.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of build and test failures.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering, test automation, or software testing, preferably within the gaming industry.
  • Strong C++ experience, especially within Unreal Engine environments.
  • Strong experience working with automated testing, tooling, and testing infrastructure in Unreal Engine environments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and testing solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, debug, and troubleshoot complex technical issues across systems, integrations, and development environments.
  • Experience working with CI/CD systems and automation pipelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and teams.
  • Comfortable owning tasks and asking for input when needed with a strong sense of curiosity toward solving technical challenges.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience shipping an Unreal Engine-based game for Xbox or PlayStation consoles.
  • Experience with containerization and cloud technologies (e.g., Docker, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with programming and scripting skills using languages such as Python, TypeScript or C#.
  • Experience with performance profiling, debugging or validation tooling within Unreal Engine environments.
  • Experience with asset processing and validation pipelines, digital content authoring tools, or other proprietary game engine tools.
  • Experience supporting shared tooling, reusable systems, or cross-project technical initiatives.

The application window for this position will close by 08/30/2026.
