    Extreme's Cloud Operations team is a group of talented engineers passionate about building highly reliable, scalable and secure solutions in public/private cloud environments. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Build and Release Engineer with strong working experience in providing innovative solutions for production build systems in support of ExtremeCloud IQ. The role empowers build engineers to influence new feature integration by collaborating with engineers from Software, Hardware, QA, and Cloud Operations teams. You will work with the team to design, develop and implement deployment automation solutions end-to-end. You will also be expected to participate in cloud service operation, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Dev/QA cloud testbeds. We will work together to design, develop and implement the best public / private / local cloud solutions for our customers. Required Skills & Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Build and Release Engineering or DevOps.
  • Strong scripting and build automation skills using Bash, Groovy, Maven, Gradle, Make, and Makefiles.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting C/C++ applications in Linux environments.
  • Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and ownership skills with the ability to drive issues to resolution.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in distributed teams across multiple time zones
Responsibilities:
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Jenkins CI/CD jobs, pipelines, build agents, and automation workflows.
  • Support and manage source control platforms including Git/GitHub and Perforce/Helix Core, including repository access, branching strategies, and SSH key management.
  • Maintain Linux-based engineering development, CI/CD, and build server infrastructure.
  • Administer JFrog Artifactory (v7+) including local, remote, virtual, federated repositories, and Docker registry management.
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot JFrog Xray scans and support SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) generation and compliance.
  • Integrate Artifactory with CI/CD pipelines by collaborating with development, infrastructure, and security teams.
  • Design and maintain repository replication, synchronization, artifact promotion, retention, cleanup, and storage optimization strategies.
  • Manage shared storage infrastructure including NFS mounts, user workspaces, build artifact locations, permissions, and disk utilization.
  • Configure and troubleshoot NGINX/reverse proxy environments supporting Artifactory and related services.
  • Monitor system health, infrastructure capacity, storage utilization, job failures, and operational risks across the CI/CD environment.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and utilities to improve build system reliability, integrity, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex build, infrastructure, artifact management, and deployment issues while providing technical support to engineering teams.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year
This role offers a marketcompetitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of 130,000 to 15,000 USD. Actual compensation will depend on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and work location. The posted range reflects the amount Extreme Networks reasonably and in good faith expects to pay upon hire. This range is determined using objective, genderneutral criteria based on skills, experience, responsibility, and working conditions. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a performancebased bonus and the full benefits package described below.
