Job description

OVERVIEW: The Systems Administrator will support deployment and sustainment of an AI system used for real-time interviews, transcription, analysis, and structured reporting. You will configure ruggedized devices, harden systems for secure environments, and provide Tier 2/3 support during operational testing and field use-often in disconnected or restricted settings. GENERAL DUTIES: Edge Deployment & Sustainment Provision, image, configure, and maintain edge devices (tablets/edge compute), microphones, headsets, and peripherals Install and maintain Torch software stack, updates, and configurations in offline and cloud environments Manage encrypted local storage and store-and-forward synchronization when connectivity is available Maintain device baselines, gold images, and configuration control Research and test new edge devices and associated equipment Systems Engineering & Reliability Administer Linux-based systems; manage drivers, performance tuning, and service health Operate containerized services (Docker; lightweight orchestration a plus) Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across OS, device I/O, GPU performance, and application services Support logging/telemetry collection appropriate for disconnected environments Manage corporate MS 365 Environment and CMMC certification Security & Compliance Apply hardening, access controls, auditing, and encryption aligned to NIST/RMF expectations Support secure handling procedures and documentation needed for government use Participate in incident response/troubleshooting and corrective action planning Field support Provide on-site support at WSMR/Fort Bliss; train users and maintain readiness of kits Support test events, user feedback collection, and quick-turn fixes with engineering REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5-8 years systems administration / systems engineering experience Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu/RHEL) Experience with Docker and containerized deployments Competence in networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi, troubleshooting, offline enclaves) Experience with endpoint security basics (disk encryption, RBAC, patching, auditing) Scripting ability (Bash and/or Python) for automation and diagnostics Ability to work on-site in the El Paso/Las Cruces/WSMR area DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: NVIDIA GPU / edge inference experience (CUDA a plus) Experience supporting DoD ranges, test events, or secure facilities Familiarity with RMF/NIST 800-53 control implementation evidence Device management at scale (imaging, baseline drift control, inventory) CLEARANCE: * Active Secret clearance
