Job description

Duties:

  • Provide engineering oversight, guidance and support to the M-SHORAD Product Manager.

  • Ensure M-SHORAD M&S analysis tasks integrate into SHIELD program plans. Support the M&S Division Chief in development of the annual budget inputs for M&S and Analysis Division.

  • Support technical M&S and analysis efforts in the application and execution of systems engineering principles, process, and activities.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the oversight and execution of analysis for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), Digital Modeling and Simulation (M&S), and analysis task in support of the M-SHORAD product office.

  • Utilize engineering skills to author, execute, and maintain key program documents, including the Performance Assessment Plan, Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis Strategy, and Verification & Validation (V&V) Plan; support the planning and execution of system performance analysis, independent performance assessments, lethality assessments, risk analysis, test readiness reviews, post-test analysis, and simulation VV&A activities.

  • Lead coordination with the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) to secure simulation accreditation.

  • Participate in weekly Test and Evaluation (T&E) meetings for situational awareness.

  • Provide Input to TEMP production and to assist in any peripheral analysis activities requested by T&E.

  • Participate in weekly Software Engineering meetings for situational awareness.

  • Participate in M&S Meetings for situational awareness.

  • Participate in weekly M&S Meetings with AvMC Modeling & Simulation for situational awareness.

  • Participate in M-SHORAD Staff Call and update Analysis Chart.

  • Coordinate, Schedule, and Lead AvMC Data Analysis support team.

  • Understand and participate in AvMC Data Analysis support team deliverables and updates to the M-SHORAD Chief Engineer, M-SHORAD PdM, SHIELD SE&I Director and M&S/SA Division Chief, SHIELD PM/DPM (SE&I Staff Call), and other IPT Division Chiefs.

  • Act as tertiary lead in representation of Product Office M&S announcements to AvMC M&S and Data Analysis team when needed.

  • Support Developmental Testing and Operational Assessments and execute the Joint Analysis Teams (JAT) at WSMR.

  • Prepare technical briefings and reports, and brief stakeholders to keep all parties apprised of M-SHORAD analysis product accomplishments and issues.

  • Support product IPTs, risk review, program manager reviews (PMR), M&S Division staff calls.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 16 years of relevant work experience.

  • Various levels of education and years of relevant work experience will be considered forthis position: High School Diploma and 16 years,Associate's and 14 years,Bachelor'sand 12 years,Master'sand 10 years.

  • Degree must be in a STEMdiscipline.

  • Potential travel up to10%-20%.

Security Clearance:Secret

Other Essential Job Functions:

  • Proficiency with M&S tools commonly used in Army product officesrequired.

  • Proficiency with Linux required.

  • Experience with large data sets and SQL.

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or object-oriented programming as well as simulation tools such as MATLAB and/or Python

  • Preferred candidates will have experience developing models and simulations of Army weapons systems.
