A Wrought Iron job involves the design, fabrication, and installation of products made from wrought iron, such as gates, fences, railings, and decorative structures. Professionals in this field use forging, welding, and bending techniques to shape and assemble iron pieces according to specifications. They may also repair or restore existing wrought iron structures to maintain durability and aesthetic appeal. Skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail are essential in this field, as many projects require custom designs and intricate metalwork.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of someone working in a wrought iron role?

A professional in wrought iron typically spends their day fabricating and installing custom metal structures such as gates, railings, fences, and decorative architectural features. Daily tasks include measuring and cutting iron, welding and assembling components, interpreting blueprints, and finishing surfaces through painting or coating. You’ll often work both in workshops and on construction sites, collaborating closely with contractors, designers, and other tradespeople to meet client specifications. The work can be physically demanding and requires a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the wrought iron position, and why are they important?
