Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are currently seeking a Staff Editor & Content Strategist to join our Content Strategy team in Vancouver, Toronto, or Calgary.

This role is an 18-Month Fixed Term Contract position.

What your team does:

Content Strategy sits at the center of Clio's storytelling engine. The team is responsible for defining how Clio communicates complex ideas clearly, credibly, and consistently across audiences. We shape foundational narratives, guide editorial standards, and partner closely with Brand, PR, SEO, Growth, PMM, revenue enablement, and executive stakeholders to deliver high-impact content that drives trust, understanding, and business outcomes.

Who you are:

You are a seasoned editor and content strategist with exceptional editorial judgment and a deep understanding of how high-stakes work gets done inside a fast-moving organization. You bring calm to complexity, clarity to ambiguity, and momentum to work that risks slowing down. You are trusted for your craft, relied on for your judgment, and valued for your ability to make others better without needing formal authority.

You influence strategy through insight and experience, while remaining hands-on in execution. You care deeply about quality, but you care just as much about shipping.

What you'll work on:Tier 1 Writing, Thought Leadership & Editorial Ownership
  • Own and deliver high-visibility writing and thought leadership initiatives across Marketing, PR, and executive communications

  • Serve as the final editor and quality gate for externally visible and executive-facing content

  • Ghostwrite and shape executive content including announcements, keynotes, presentation narratives, statements, and internal communications

  • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across high-impact work

  • Reduce revision cycles and senior stakeholder review burden by elevating clarity and precision upfront

Project Momentum & Execution
  • Act as a project mover and unblocker when work is at risk due to capacity constraints, complexity, or competing priorities

  • Step in to drive initiatives across the finish line during peak demand or team transitions

  • Translate strategy into clear, executable next steps that teams can move on quickly

  • Identify delivery risks early and proactively course-correct

Cross-Functional Bridge
  • Partner closely with PR, Brand, SEO, Growth, and Corporate Communications on shared initiatives

  • Serve as connective tissue across teams to ensure alignment, continuity, and quality

  • Support executive and leadership stakeholders with trusted editorial and strategic input

Strategic Support & Leadership Leverage
  • Contribute to foundational discussions around content strategy by bringing historical context, editorial perspective, and delivery insight

  • Provide real-time signal on capacity, sequencing, and execution tradeoffs

  • Enable better prioritization and decision-making by surfacing what is feasible, what is at risk, and what matters most

What you may have:
  • Extensive experience in senior writing, editing, and content strategy roles

  • Exceptional editorial judgment and the ability to improve work quickly and decisively

  • Proven experience supporting executive-facing or high-stakes communications

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and shifting priorities

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills without formal people management responsibility

Serious bonus points if you have:
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or complex, regulated industries

  • Familiarity with large-scale thought leadership initiatives and flagship content programs

  • Deep understanding of how content, brand, PR, and growth intersect

This role is a backfill for an existing position.
