Job Description

Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support research focused on understanding instructors' adoption and use of AI tools. The Research Assistant will work directly under the supervision of Prof. Tiffany Li and contribute to multiple phases of the research process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support various stages of the research process, including literature reviews, study design, data collection, qualitative data analysis, and academic writing.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of human-subjects research studies using qualitative research methods.

  • Conduct qualitative research activities, including interviews, contextual inquiry, and related data collection methods.

  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative data to identify key findings and research insights.

  • Assist with the preparation of academic papers, presentations, reports, and other research-related materials.

  • Maintain organized research documentation and communicate effectively with members of the research team.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interest in AI, education, human-computer interaction, or qualitative research methodologies is preferred.

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the hourly base range for this position is $16.00-$20.00. This range represents the University's good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
