JOB SUMMARY: The Feed Mill Lead will oversee the day-to-day operations of the feed mill and feed warehouse. The Feed Mill Lead's duties includes but are not limited to maintaining feed quality standards and meeting production schedules. This individual will be able to operate all feed mill and feed delivery equipment. They are responsible for training all other team members working in the feed mill and feed warehouse. The feed mill lead is responsible for inventory control in both the feed mill and the feed warehouse.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Ability to gain operational knowledge of all machinery in feed mill, operate the feed mill safely, make minor repairs, and conduct scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
  2. Ability to obtain PCQI certification for food safety.
  3. Able to obtain good working knowledge of feed ingredients.
  4. Ability to obtain and maintain Class A CDL.
  5. Utilize basic computer skills.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Lead the day-to-day operations of the feed mill and warehouse.
  2. Accurately weigh and measure medications and ingredients for feed recipes.
  3. Accurately follow batch sheets for feed mixing.
  4. Ensure food safety and feed quality standards are met.
  5. Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with monthly inventory duties.
  6. Ensure correct products are being loaded at the dock.
  7. Safely operate bulk feed delivery equipment.
  8. Observe OSHA, state, federal, and MKC safety regulations. Promote a safety culture by proactively assessing all activities for dangerous circumstances.
  9. Maintain facilities regularly to the manufacture's specifications or the MKC maintenance program and follow housekeeping standards keeping facilities neat and clean.
  10. Ensure all required paperwork and documentation is completed correctly, timely and meets company standards.
  11. Assist other locations and/or departments as requested.
  12. Maintain all vehicles in proper operating order, as well as keeping them clean and neat in appearance. In addition, all maintenance shall be documented in writing.
  13. Assist with training of other feed mill employees.
  14. Drive a commercial vehicle when requested.
  15. Maintain a positive visual image of all locations by keeping the property and grounds clean, neat and orderly in appearance.
  16. Provide outstanding customer service to generate repeat business.
