Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant at DORS Northwest.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 4:30p - 8:00p


Requirements:

  • Associate's degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Competency in using technology
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Job Tasks:

  • Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
  • Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Provide โ€˜re-teachingโ€™ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
  • Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
  • Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
  • Other duties assigned.
