SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

Join SYSTRA Canada in shaping the future of Canada with this impressive ALTO high-speed rail project connecting Quebec City to Toronto, the largest infrastructure project in Canada in generations.

The ALTO high-speed rail project aims to improve the quality of life of our citizens, strengthen ties between communities, and stimulate economic growth.

Are you convinced that a more sustainable world is possible and that mobility is an integral part of thinking about the future of our planet? Come aboard with SYSTRA Canada and be part of the project that will revolutionize the railway industry in Canada!

We are seeking a highly motivated Requirements Manager to lead the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of requirements management activities for a major railway infrastructure project.

This role goes beyond technical requirements management. It requires a strong project delivery mindset, with accountability for driving outcomes, managing stakeholders, co-ordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that requirements-related deliverables support project objectives, schedule, and contractual commitments.

As Requirements Manager, you will act as the primary interface between the Client, Integration Committee, Engineering disciplines, Configuration Management, and Project Leadership. You will play a key role in ensuring that requirements are aligned, traceable, and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle, while supporting successful design, integration, testing, and commissioning activities.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the main point of contact for the Client on requirements-related matters.
  • Build strong working relationships with the Client, Integration Committee, Project Management, Engineering Leads, Configuration Management, and Delivery teams.
  • Drive the timely resolution of issues, risks, and decisions that may affect project scope, schedule, cost, or technical performance.
  • Facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
  • Provide regular reporting and clear visibility on requirements status, key risks, change impacts, and progress.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of requirements management activities in line with project milestones and contractual commitments.
  • Oversee requirements elicitation, analysis, and validation for System Requirements Specifications (SRS) and other project baselines.
  • Support governance and decision-making related to requirements development, approval, baseline management, and change control.
  • Co-ordinate impact assessments for proposed changes and provide recommendations to support informed project decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Requirements Analysts, setting clear objectives and priorities.
  • Oversee the full requirements lifecycle to ensure requirements remain complete, traceable, consistent, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure requirements support downstream engineering, integration, verification, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor requirements maturity and readiness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable project processes, standards, and systems engineering principles, including ISO 15288 and EN 50126.

Education: Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Years of experience: Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure, transportation, or integrated systems projects, preferably in the railway sector.

Technical competencies:

  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, risk management, issue resolution, and delivery oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders and organisations.
  • Experience managing requirements, scope, and change within large-scale projects.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive decisions in complex project environments.
  • Strong executive communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English*.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and requirements management practices aligned with ISO 15288 and EN 50126.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools, preferably DOORS Next Generation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving project outcomes.
  • PMP, INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, or equivalent professional credentials are considered an asset.

*Reasons for requiring bilingualism: You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele, including both French- and English-speaking companies. Bilingualism is therefore fundamental to building strong relationships with our customers, understanding their specific needs, communicating effectively in their preferred language, and facilitating strategic meetings.

Personal & soft skills:

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and proactively remove obstacles to project progress.
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills in complex project environments.
  • Ability to balance technical rigour with practical project delivery needs.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Focus on achieving client, project, and business outcomes.
