Grade: Management_Executive 607
Pay Range: $98,200.00 - $162,100.00
Job Description
As the Manager, Facilities, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of WGU's corporate facilities, ensuring our workplaces are safe, efficient, and well maintained. You'll lead the facilities team, oversee vendor partnerships, and help deliver a workplace experience that supports employees across multiple locations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, improving operations, building strong partnerships, and finding better ways to support the business.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of WGU's corporate facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and welcoming workplaces across multiple locations.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing facilities team by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and promoting a service-focused culture.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities operations, partnering with internal stakeholders, property management, and external service providers.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality service and strong performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support consistent and efficient facilities operations.
  • Manage office moves, space planning, workplace modifications, maintenance projects, and day-to-day campus operations aligned with business needs.
  • Support construction, renovation, and workplace improvement projects in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Monitor facilities budgets, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure responsible stewardship of department resources.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, building codes, life safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Develop operational metrics and reporting to measure service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, and support informed decision-making.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to support workplace safety, business continuity planning, and future facilities initiatives.

What Makes You Successful
  • Experience leading facilities operations in a corporate or multi-site office environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and motivating teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, contracts, and service providers.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets and identifying cost efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering a positive workplace experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, life safety requirements, building systems, and applicable regulatory standards.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Property Management, Business, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience leading corporate facilities operations, workplace services, or property management.
  • 1+ year of people leadership experience, with demonstrated success developing employees and managing vendor partnerships.

Experience in Lieu of Education
  • Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this role may substitute for education requirements. Generally, one year of relevant experience may be considered in place of one year of education, at the discretion of the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or other IFMA certification.
  • Active participation in IFMA or other professional facilities organizations.
  • Experience supporting facilities operations across multiple corporate locations.
  • Experience implementing operational improvements, workplace initiatives, or facilities transformation projects.
