Job description

Safely operating the rig and contribute to the safe and healthful workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as needed both scheduled and un-scheduled hours often out of town for extended periods of time
  • 2 or more years of Derrick/Rig Hand experience and a recommendation from Supervisor and District Manager for advancement from Derrick/Rig Hand
  • Clean driving record, CDL expected but not required
  • Ability to understand all workover rig operations and how to communicate to crew members all information required by the Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate the workover rig per the direction of the Supervisor in a safe manner
  • Assist the Supervisor in directing the crew to complete rigging up, operating and rigging down of the rig; and all other tasks as needed
  • Understand the operation of MSPSI equipment
  • Communicate any changes/issues with MSPSI equipment with the Supervisor
  • Understand rig operations, simple calculations and tools for maintaining constant control of the well and communicate the information to the Supervisor
  • Assist the Supervisor in developing training plans for all members of the crew, and work to carry out those plans
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a safe manner
  • All duties of a Hand
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Keep up to date on all training offered by MSPSI
