Job description

Clark, Campbell, Lancaster, Workman & Airth, P.A. is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This position is drafting-intensive and requires a strong working knowledge of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, including deadlines, formatting requirements, and filing practices in Florida state courts.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced litigation environment. This role involves significant responsibility in preparing pleadings and litigation documents from start to finish.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and finalize litigation documents, including complaints, answers, affirmative defenses, motions, notices, and responses, with proper legal citations and formatting consistent with Florida practice
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
  • Ensure all filings comply with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, local rules, and judicial preferences, including accurate calculation of deadlines and hearing notice requirements
  • Prepare and e-file pleadings and other documents through the Florida e-Portal
    Review, organize, and summarize medical records, billing records, deposition transcripts, and expert materials
  • Prepare notices of hearing, deposition schedules, and coordinate logistics with opposing counsel, clients, and court staff
  • Assist attorneys with trial and deposition preparation, including preparation of trial binders, exhibits, and witness materials
  • Conduct legal research and assist with preparation of memoranda on procedural and substantive issues
  • Maintain and organize case files, deadlines, and calendars to ensure compliance with court requirements and internal timelines
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel


Experience

  • Strong drafting experience in civil litigation is required, including independent preparation of pleadings and discovery
  • Working familiarity with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure is required; experience calculating deadlines and managing litigation calendars is essential
  • Experience with Florida e-filing system (e-Portal) strongly preferred
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


Educational Requirements

  • 4-year degree or Paralegal Certification (Both Preferred)


Travel Requirement: Minimal travel requirements, personal method of transportation required.

Schedule: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Work Location: In person, in our office.
