Job description

Job Title                 Temporary Crossing Guard

Wage                     $19.17 hourly (2026)

Reports To              Executive Assistant, Engineering and Corporate Assets

Department             Engineering and Corporate Assets

Location                  As Assigned **see below

Hours                      Approximately 2 hours per day, Regular Guards

Other                      Hours are varied, requiring attendance mornings before school starts and after school, Monday to Friday from September to June.  **Crossing Guard assignment location is Cameron (Fenelon Township)

Job Description

  • Assist children crossing intersections at crosswalks
  • Liaise with school officials regarding any problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills/Education Required

  • Prior Crossing Guard experience an asset
  • Effective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with children, members of the public, and all levels of staff
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact
  • Excellent customer service skills at a level to develop and to maintain cooperative working relationships both within and outside the organization
  • An acceptable Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector, required upon verbal offer of employment.

Applicants must be prepared for skill testing.
