F6 is a rapidly growing HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing company supporting hyperscale data center infrastructure across the United States. With over 100 employees and continued exponential growth, our teams specialize in the startup, commissioning support, and troubleshooting of mission-critical cooling systems designed by leading equipment manufacturers.

At F6 we look for HVAC technicians who enjoy diagnosing problems and bringing complex systems online.

If you are a technician who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and wants to continue developing your technical abilities, this role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest data center cooling systems in the world.

Field Service Technicians play a critical role in supporting equipment startup and troubleshooting system performance issues in mission-critical environments.

Pay: $40 – $48 per hour

Travel

Travel may be required depending on project assignment.

Travel Costs Covered by company (flight, hotel and car rental)

What You'll Do

Field Service Technicians support the startup, commissioning support, and troubleshooting of mission-critical cooling systems used in hyperscale data centers.

This is a hands-on technical role where technicians are expected to perform troubleshooting tasks with minimal supervision while supporting senior technicians during complex startup activities.

Equipment Startup & Commissioning Support

Support startup and commissioning activities for cooling systems including:

  • Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH)
  • Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC)
  • In-Row Heat Exchangers (IRHX)
  • Data Center Air Handling Units (DAHU)

Responsibilities include:

  • Executing pre-functional equipment checks
  • Assisting with functional commissioning tests
  • Verifying equipment installation and piping connections
  • Monitoring equipment performance during startup
  • Identifying system performance issues

Mechanical Troubleshooting

Diagnose and assist in resolving issues involving:

  • Hydronic cooling systems
  • Chilled water systems
  • Glycol cooling loops
  • Air handling equipment
  • Pumps and valves

Technicians in this role are expected to understand system flow and assist with identifying root causes of equipment performance issues.

Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot issues involving:

  • 24V control circuits
  • 120V and 480V electrical systems
  • VFD operation
  • Sensors and instrumentation

Technicians should be comfortable reading electrical schematics and assisting with diagnosing system control issues.

Field Operations Support

Field Service Technicians support project teams by:

  • Participating in daily safety meetings
  • Coordinating with startup leads and senior technicians
  • Supporting commissioning activities
  • Maintaining organized documentation and equipment records
  • Effective communication primarily using Microsoft Teams

Documentation & Reporting

Assist with completing:

  • Startup checklists
  • Commissioning documentation
  • Equipment inspection reports
  • Field troubleshooting notes
  • End of Day Reports
  • Monthly Expense Reports (within 7 days of receiving)
  • All safety documentation to include JHA, JSA, PTP

Technicians must maintain clear documentation of equipment conditions and system performance during startup activities.

  • 3+ years' experience working with HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Experience working with hydronic systems preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and piping diagrams
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and control systems
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable transportation required for local travel when applicable
  • Willing to fly to work regions
