Job description

Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
This is a remote role.
The Role
Fidelity Private Shares is growing, and we're seeking a VP of Partnerships - Law Firms to play a critical role in driving new business growth within the startup ecosystem. This role is responsible for building and activating law firm awareness and referrals - turning ecosystem relationships into real sales opportunities for Fidelity Private Shares.
Our team supports the innovation economy through a modern equity administration platform, delivering solutions that serve companies, their employees, and stakeholders throughout the corporate lifecycle. This role is central to expanding our presence in the private market by sourcing and cultivating relationships with startup attorneys. These attorneys are important gatekeepers in our process of converting early-stage companies into clients of Fidelity Private Shares.
Success in this role requires being highly visible in the legal community, identifying the right lawyer to know, and educating them about Fidelity Private Shares. You'll proactively engage startup attorneys by:
  • Managing a roster of key relationships you want to
  • Systematically meeting with lawyers over zoom and in person to build deep relationships
  • Partnering with law to organize and host events, lunch and learns, and founder meetups that create meaningful engagement with prospective clients
  • Acting as a connector across your market - identifying opportunities to bring founders, partners, and Fidelity together
  • Activating partnerships into tangible pipeline by converting relationships and events into qualified sales opportunities
  • Developing repeatable strategies to scale founder engagement and pipeline generation across your region
  • Representing Fidelity as a thought leader in the startup, legal, and venture community
  • Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to align on messaging and convert opportunities into clients

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, own, and grow your legal relationships
  • Create and execute an ecosystem engagement strategy
  • Lead event strategy across regions, including both hosting and participating in high-impact legal/community events (approximately 25% travel)
  • Build and maintain relationships with law firms, (as well as investors, accelerators, and innovation hubs) that can consistently generate founder introductions
  • Translate market insights and community feedback into actionable strategies for internal teams

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • 5 plus years as an attorney
  • 10 plus years of experience in the startup and equity management ecosystem
  • Proven ability to source and develop new business opportunities through relationships and community presence
  • Strong networking, presentation, and interpersonal skills - with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Experience hosting or organizing events that drive meaningful business outcomes
  • Understanding of SaaS business models and the venture/startup ecosystem
  • Track record of building new markets, expanding networks, and converting relationships into revenue opportunities
  • Existing relationships within law firms and startup communities strongly preferred
