Job Description

TheUnderwriterIII reviews and underwrites large books of business, diverse accounts, and evaluates complex risk scenarios or situations.

This is a 100%in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participants in rate-making meetings, frequentlybringing regional-specific items that are noteworthy to the group for vetting.

  • Evaluates and assesses eachcomponentof a book of business and understands the impact each risk has.

  • Evaluates requests for appeals and departmental audits.

  • Presentspresentations/webinars for other underwriters, marketing, and agency groups.

  • Coordinates with the Manager, marketing, field staff, orappropriate liaisonifpreviousattempts to correct agent performance have gone unaddressed or have not been received well by the agent.

  • Educates, coaches, andtrainsagents on underwriting procedures, philosophy, and new products.

  • Provides support for the agents and field management as an educator and coachregardinghow to develop a profitable book of business.

  • Assistsagents and field management on changes in guidelines and processes via teleconferences and webinars, as well as in-person presentations.

  • Leads and coordinates smaller independent projects outside of normal job duties whichfrequentlyinvolve working withothers inwithin and outside of the department andbeable toaccomplishindependently.

Experience Required:

  • Four or more years of P&C Commercial Underwriting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor'sdegreepreferred, butnot required.

  • Farming or Commercial industry knowledge.

  • AALU, AU, AINS certification.

The base salary range provided below is based on your experience and geographic location. Pay Range: $64,000 - $84,000
