What is a working couple?

Working couples are pairs, often married or in a committed relationship, who are jointly employed by the same organization, usually in roles that require teamwork and cooperation. These positions are common in industries such as property management, caretaking, hospitality, or on-site management of facilities where employers value the stability, trust, and efficiency a couple can offer. Working couples may be provided with housing or other benefits as part of their employment. The arrangement allows employers to fill multiple roles with individuals who work well together and are often flexible with hours and responsibilities.

How do working couples typically divide responsibilities when managing a hospitality or property management business together?

Working couples often find success by clearly defining their individual roles based on each partner's strengths and experience. For example, one partner may focus on front-of-house duties like guest relations and reservations, while the other manages maintenance, accounting, or housekeeping. Regular communication and flexibility are key, as priorities can shift during busy periods. Many employers value couples who demonstrate teamwork and can cover for each other as needed to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a working couple in property management, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Working Couple in property management, you typically need experience in hospitality or facilities management, general maintenance skills, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with property management software, maintenance tools, and basic accounting systems is frequently required. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities help couples coordinate tasks and deliver excellent service to tenants or guests. These combined skills ensure efficient property operations, guest satisfaction, and effective resolution of daily challenges.

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. Working primarily in a remote setting, the LCSW will engage with clients to deliver comprehensive counseling and treatment services tailored to their specific needs.

About the Organization

Delta Area Counseling Center has been a pillar in the community since its inception in 1993, devoted to providing exceptional behavioral health services, especially for those affected by addiction. Our commitment is rooted in the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; we strive to serve those who are often overlooked, particularly women in need of substance abuse recovery. Our organization prides itself on fostering a culture that emphasizes respect and dignity for all individuals. As a leader in addiction recovery services, we maintain a reputation for excellence in care and a holistic approach to treatment.

Work Environment

As a remote position, you will primarily work from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of our dedicated team. Our digital infrastructure enables effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients alike. You'll utilize a range of digital tools for scheduling, counseling, and documentation, ensuring flexibility while maintaining high standards of care. Our supportive management team prioritizes work-life balance and provides a collaborative atmosphere, promoting professional development through ongoing training and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients, addressing both substance use and mental health issues.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling services, including individual and couples therapy, using effective methodologies suited for different age groups.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation of all client interactions, treatment progress, and adjustments to treatment plans in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Schedule and manage ongoing appointments, ensuring an organized calendar to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Function collaboratively within our outpatient team, engaging in case management activities to coordinate care effectively among multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize a billing service for handling client accounts, insurance claims, and payment plans, allowing you to focus more on client care rather than administrative duties.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse population, including youth, adults, and families referred for outpatient treatment. The clientele may present a range of clinical presentations related to substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and varying degrees of psychosocial challenges. Understanding the unique dynamics of familial relationships and societal influences is essential for effective treatment delivery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Services or related Behavioral Healthcare field.
  • Current LCSW licensure in the state of Florida, permitting independent practice.
  • A minimum of two years of supervised, paid experience in the field of chemical dependency, mental health, or adolescent treatment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing therapy to couples or families is highly regarded. A demonstrated understanding of relationship dynamics and effective therapeutic interventions to assist couples is preferred.
  • Experience with digital counseling platforms and electronic health record systems.
Compensation and Benefits

We value our employees and offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to a rewarding compensation package, we provide:

  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance plans.
  • Generous paid time off including vacation days and 11 paid holidays each year.
  • A 403(b) retirement savings plan to help secure your financial future.
  • Continuing education opportunities and tuition reimbursement, promoting lifelong learning and professional growth.
  • A signing bonus to welcome you to our team!
